Maggie knows that something is in the air and she is decidedly depressed. For the past two days, the trunks have been piling up, upsetting her routine in the living room. Last night's storm kept me restless and awake and getting up was a battle. The last of the laundry is on the go, and I need to put the final touches to the trunks, weigh them, and clean up. Found these runners on the doorstep this morning. My brother Rod cleaned them up and they are all shiny and ready for my first workout at the gym in Kampala! My nephew, Elton, is outgrowing his shoes by the minute and he passed these on to me! What luck is that? In just four hours, I will be on my way to Pearson International. This is a whole new chapter now that my unofficial sabbatical has ended. Soon, too soon, the school routine will have begun and the past year will be but a vague memory.
When next I blog, it will be from Kampala. On Saturday or Sunday, in all likelihood. There'll be no Maggie or Riley to entertain. Will have to get me a monkey to honour my promise to Sam!
